Susann Phair Photography

After spending five years raising her children, Susann Phair (aka Susann Pocknell) acknowledged her need for a change of direction as well as a desire to formally commit to her interest in black and white photography. After dabbling in the darkroom for some time, she took a National Diploma in Photography and has since then undertaken various photography jobs involving children and families as well as some commercial work. She currently divides her time between teaching Photography at Stratford upon Avon College, and her studio.

A lot of my work is concerned with the melancholic moment - at the lighter end of the scale - , and negative space. This is not an idea applied exclusively to some of my human subjects, but also expressed in my still life works where I attempt to imbue the objects with some emotional slant.

Much of my still life work starts with a personal experience or idea, which can be expressed in single words or short sentences, as in the case of 'promises', and 'I'm not as green as I'm cabbage looking'.

Don’t hide them away..........looking at photos of your loved ones is a proven pleasurable experience and I have produced many images that are intended as gifts.

I always say to clients think about how and where you are going to display your images.

For many people this is a wall piece – and I favour bespoke frames with custom cut mounts in white, blond, oak or black ash from sustainable sources.

  • Double/Triple frames 135.00 - 165.00
  • Multiple images and large frames (4 or more) up to £290 depending on frame and size.
  • Images in mounts £15 - £45

Retouching extra... and charged by time involved

You may choose to have a collection of images in a traditional matted album (suitable for at least 10 images). Limited images can be supplied on disk in addition to other products.
